The rest has been edited to make it more concise and we hope evern easier to use, but contains nothing specifically new.

Invite friends and helpers to support you

One of the big changes in v1.1 of Aliveworld is the greater role of "friends" in change projects. When you share your project page with someone, they can leave you messages of encouragment and help right on the page. You can use this new style project page as a two way communication process between you and the friends or professional helpers you are working with.

Remember that unless you actively share it, everything you write in your project is completely private.

If you want to experiment with sharing a change project, the "Getting Started" section of the newly revised Change Your Future Aliveguide will show you how to do it.

Linking my practices into a Change Project - part 4

We are about to launch the next version of Aliveworld that has some significant improvements in the area of Change Projects. Now my project page will show everything inside my change project on one page instead of spread over five. If you want a sneak preview of this change, visit the Beta 2 site here. You can log in with your existing username and password -- but new people can't join there and you can't buy Guide's there. It's just for playing with the new features.

One of the nicest new features is the increased usefulness of sharing my project with a friend, family member or coach/supporter. I can now invite someone to actively support me inside my Change Project. They can visit and read all that I am writing, see how I am doing with my practices and leave comments for me of encouragement, support and feedback all of which show up right on the single project page with everything else (of course everything is still private to me and my support team!). Best of all, Aliveworld will email members of my support team if I slip on my targets for intentions, tasks or practices, so they can get on my case and help me get back on track.

If you don't know what a Change Project is when you read this post, visit www.aliveworld.com, sign up and explore -- its free to join.

Sharing your Change Project

Coach, mate, cheerleader, supporter... it can make a difference to have someone on your side who can help you as you work through a change. If things feel hard, or you're too distracted by other things that are happening or you're not sure what to do next, it's great to have someone who can give you a gentle reminder or a rev up, or draw your attention to the gains you've already made. This is why it can be a smart move to share your change project with a buddy or mentor.

It's easy to do. On the Guidance page of your change project, under the heading People, choose a friend to share your project with. As long as the person you select has also identified you as a friend, they'll see a link to your change project on their My Aliveworld home page. They just need to look for the heading Friends' Change Projects.

When you share your change project, a friend can see what you've done, what you plan to do and what progress you've made. They can comment on particular ideas, tasks or practices using the Review or Comment links. You'll be able to see if someone's commented on one of your items when you're on the relevant page in your change project. You'll also see new activity listed in the summary on the Reflect page. Your friend might want to send you an email or Aliveworld message to let you know they've made a contribution.

Whatever their role, sharing your change project with someone else may make some things a little easier and help you stay on track.

"No man is an island. To fight the good fight we need help." Paulo Coelho, The Pilgrimage.

Blogs and journals

Writing about our experiences is a useful way to process and make sense of things that impact us, and it's something that more and more of us enjoy. Writing about your experiences of making change in your Aliveworld blog is a way of sharing what you've discovered with others making the same changes. It's good to be able to let others know about things that have worked for you whether it's something that has inspired and motivated you, a piece of knowledge you've come across that has helped you, or a practical activity that has made it possible for you to something that you've not been able to do before. These contributions can make a difference for others.

If you want to to keep a personal record of your thoughts and observations, and reflect privately on your own change experience, don't use your blog. Your Journal is for your eyes only and lets you chronicle your progress in any way that's useful to you.

Gail
